Petcube vs Furbo is a treat-tossing webcam comparison, not a home-security bake-off. Both are pet-first cameras with an app, two-way audio, and a second price hiding in the cloud plan.
Furbo is the barking-alert / 360-class dog cam people mean. Petcube is Bites vs Play — treats or a laser — and a slightly different shelf. The short winner
Pick Furbo if the dog is the reason you want a camera, you will use bark alerts, and you want one brand that is obviously a dog cam.
Pick Petcube if you want a cube that also does cats (Play/laser) or you like their treat toss and app more than Furbo’s barking story.
Pick a Wyze or Blink if the job is “a camera in the living room” and you refuse a pet-brand tax. That skip lives on the camera ranking.
Jobs
Treat toss: both, on the treat SKUs. Use the treat size they specify. Food-guarding dogs do not need snacks from the sky. A automatic feeder is a different object with a different resource-guarding conversation.
Laser: Petcube Play, not Furbo. Some cats love it. Some rehearse 3 a.m. parkour off the tree.
Two-way audio: both. Your voice can settle a dog or wind them up. A sitter with a key still beats shouting “down” from a meeting — Rover.
Health: neither is a veterinarian. A restless night is a clinic, not a bark-alert screenshot. Do not use a cam as the only fireworks plan.
The money (September 20, 2026)
Hardware is the first invoice. Cloud is the second. Basic live view may be thin without a plan. Read the current Furbo Smart Home / Care-class language and Petcube’s Care plan before you unbox.
Year-one math is camera plus twelve months of the features you actually use. Year two is the plan if the hardware still lives. A $35 Wyze plus optional Cam Plus can win if you never toss a treat.

Skip-ifs
Skip both if you will not open the app in week four. Skip treat tossers if the dog guards food or the cat will unplug the cube. Skip stacking two pet cams and a doorbell because you were anxious — pick a view of the crate and the door.
A camera is not a GPS collar. If the dog left the yard, Furbo will show you an empty rug.
