Best cat water fountains (2026)
A cat fountain is a pump, a bowl, and a filter you will actually wash. The job is: the cat drinks more than they do from a stale mug, and you do not grow a science fair in the impeller.

Catit is the default because the flower is a known object, the filters exist, and the cat can drink from a stream or a bowl. PIXI is the prettier sibling. Neither is a medical device. Wash the pump. A silent fountain is a dead fountain — check it.

- Most cat households that want a simple stream, triple-action filters, and a brand that is actually about cats
- Skip if
- You refuse weekly cleaning, or you wanted a stainless tank and an app.

PetSafe Drinkwell / Oasys
PetSafe’s fountain line (Drinkwell heritage, Oasys current naming) is the open-bowl pick. Power outage still leaves water. That sentence matters more than an app graph. Dishwasher-safe plastic is only a win if you actually run the dishwasher.
- Best for
- Cats that want a wide whisker-friendly bowl and households that like a free-falling stream they can turn down
- Skip if
- You wanted cordless / UVC theater more than an open bowl.

PETKIT EverSweet-class
PETKIT is the gadget fountain. Stainless helps with slime. Cordless and UVC are extras, not a kidney treatment. The app reminding you the water is low is useful if you listen. It is not a camera.
- Best for
- Owners who will use an app reminder and want a stainless drinking tray
- Skip if
- You will not buy their filters, or you wanted a $25 flower.

A washed ceramic or stainless bowl (honorable)
The honorable mention is a bowl you wash daily. Many cats do not need a motor. A fountain is for the tap-obsessed and the multi-cat fountain politics. Do not buy RGB lighting first.

- The cat only drinks from a running tap and you have the water bill to prove it.

- Nobody who has scrubbed a mystery pump once
- Skip if
- You like replacement parts that exist.
