Best dog boots for winter (2026)
Winter dog boots are socks with a job: salt, ice, and hot-cold pavement. The job is: the paw comes home without splits, and the boot stays on past the lobby.
We ranked boots US owners can buy from a brand site. Scores are editorial. We did not ice-test rubber. Public prices are dated September 20, 2026. A boot is not a raincoat. Ruffwear is the boot we buy when the dog will actually walk. Rubber, a closure you can retighten, a size chart. The high-step looks ridiculous for a block; most dogs settle. Pair with their rain shell and a harness.

- Skip if
- You needed a $20 four-pack for three slush days.

Muttluks is the winter name next to Ruffwear. Fleece and a rubber sole for city salt. Put them on at home. Reflective bits help at 5 p.m. in January.

- Cold sidewalks and owners who want a named winter boot with fleece
- Skip if
- You needed a sticky trail rubber more than warmth.

The honorable mention is wipe-and-rinse plus a balm the clinic is fine with. It is not a boot. It is damage control. Split pads are a clinic.
