An elevated bowl is a height, not a medical device. The job is: a tall or arthritic dog eats without folding in half, and the stand does not flip when they hit it.

An adjustable stand is a pair of bowls and a frame you raise. Fine for a puppy that will be a tank. Lock the height. Wobble is how water hits the wall anyway.
- Best for
- Growing dogs and households that will change height twice
- Skip if
- The dog is a 12-pound adult who already likes the floor.

A heavy stand stays put. That is the feature. Buy bowls you can replace. Ceramic looks nice until it cracks on tile.

- Adults whose height you already know
- Skip if
- You are still guessing at 6 months.

The honorable mention is the floor. It is not a failure. It is the default until height is a comfort or mess problem.

- Most dogs, including many deep-chested adults whose clinic said floor is fine
- Skip if
- They struggle to stoop and the clinic is fine with a lift.

This slot is a no as medicine. Slow meals and rest after exercise are clinic conversations. A tower that claims to prevent GDV is a brochure. Call the emergency line for retching and a hard belly.

Height is comfort
Start near the lower chest / wrist-to-bowl rumors are folklore — watch the dog. Seniors with neck or elbow pain may like a lift. Large-breed puppies should not get a dining table as a growth protocol unless the clinic said so.
