Best cat window perches (2026)
A window perch is a shelf that does not dump a cat onto a radiator. The job is: hold the published weight on glass or a sill you actually have, stay put through a launch, and give an apartment cat vertical they can own without a 72-inch condo.

The short list
Buy a K&H EZ Mount-class perch if the glass is a real single pane you will degrease and the cat is under the published limit. Buy a sill-resting or radiator-safe shelf if suction cups have already betrayed you. Buy a small-apartment tree if they want height more than birds. Skip dollar-store suction on a double-hung you open twice a day. Skip a perch over a heater they can fry a tail on.

- Skip if

Catit hammocks and rest shelves are competent when the mount matches the window. Buy the hardware they sell. Do not zip-tie a no-name sling to a cheap cup.

PetSafe / sill-style resters
A sill rester does not argue with physics the way a cup does. It needs a sill. If you do not have one, you are back on K&H or a tree.
- Best for
- Windows where suction has failed and a sill can take a padded board
- Skip if
- You have no sill and a single flush pane.

A sturdy tree next to the window (honorable)
The honorable mention is not a perch. It is a tree parked so the top platform sees the bird. Safer for senior cats who cannot launch onto a sling.
- Best for
- Heavy cats, old cups, rentals that ban suction marks
- Skip if
- You have 18 inches of floor and a landlord who hates sisal.

The job is hold plus stay plus a weight you can read. We weighted mount honesty, washability, and whether the brand still sells replacements. We did not hang from your pane.
Glass, sills, and weight
Single-pane vs dual, film, and textured glass change cup grip. Follow the current K&H compatibility note. Degrease. Recheck after a heat wave. A first-time cat still needs a scratcher on the floor — the perch is extra.
Do not mount over a space heater. Do not use a perch as permission to open an unscreened double-hung. Indoor-only is allowed. Two cats may need two views or they will share poorly.
